Community builders are a staple of the NUA practice, though they are not solely the domain of NUA. Responsive Classroom and many other programs suggest simillar activities. It is widely believed that learning cannot occur, until realationships are built and children feel safe in a learning enviroment. Here is a list of the ones I know.
