Tet Nguyen Dan or Tet is a huge celebration marking the beginning of the new year on the lunar calendar and the beginning of spring. Tet Nguyen Dan means "the first morning of the first day of the new period." In 2006, TET was on January 29. It is the Year of the Dog. TET in 2007 will be the Year of the Pig. 2008 will be the Year of the Rat; 2009, the buffalo; 2010, the Tiger; 2011,the Cat; 2012, the Dragon; and 2013, the Snake.
